Registration

All players must register on Friday, June 6 at Milburn Golf & Country Club. Registration will be open from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The registration area will be located in the Living Room, which is on the upper level of the clubhouse on the north side. At registration, players will be given their ocker number, entry gifts, the Notice to Players, Evacuation Plan/Procedures, Pace of Play Policy, and Caddie Credenetials. There is no daily registration; however, players are expected to report to the starting tee no less than 5 minutes prior to the assigned starting time. There is no call to the tee; it is the player’s responsibility to arrive on time.

Groupings & Starting Times

1st Round Starting times begin at 7:30 a.m. from # 1 and # 10
2nd Round Starting times begin at 7:30 a.m. from # 1 and # 10
3rd Round Starting times begin at 7:30 a.m. from # 1 and # 10

Players shall be grouped and assigned times based upon their aggregate score, with highest scores assigned the earlier times. Groupings and starting times will be available by 5:00 pm each day. Grouping and Starting Times will be posted online at www.kansascitygolfer.org or you may call (913) 484-1844.

Parking

Your parking pass was mailed to you on May 31. Please display the parking pass in your vehicle when entering the club. Caddies will not be issued parking passes due to the limited parking space at the club. Therefore, caddies are asked to carpool with their player or along the streets adjacent to Milburn.

Practice Round

Each player is entitled to one complimentary practice round. Practice rounds may be played the week before the Challenge. Tee time reservations may be made by calling Milburn's Golf Shop at (913) 432-1224.

Hospitality

A hospitality area will be available to the players and their caddies each day of the Challenge. Breakfast, lunch and beverages will be available in the hospitality area.

Transportation

The use of golf carts during the Challenge is strongly discouraged and should only be used in the case of a physical condition.

Caddies

Competitors will be given credentials for their caddies at registration. Caddies are required to wear the official Watson Challenge caddie bib. Caddie bibs shall be provide to the caddie at the starting tee and must be returned at the conclusion of each round in the scoring tent.

Practice Range

The practice range, short game area and putting clock shall open at 6:30 a.m. each day. Practice balls will be set up on the practice range and short game area. Milburn requests that competitors use the balls provided on the range to minimize balls being hit into the second fairway. In addition, competitors are asked to be cognizant of fellow competitors who are playing the second hole (located at the far end of the range) to help ensure that no ball is hit over the protective fence and into play. Competitors may be asked at times to not hit woods while the competitors playing number 2 pass by .

General Rules Information

Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA, and the Local Rules and Conditions of Competition as approved by the TWC Rules and Competitions Committee. Reference to the Rules and Appendix I may be found in the 2008-09 Rules of Golf book. Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is: 2 Strokes. Questions shall be settled by the Committee, whose decision shall be final. The competition is deemed to be closed when the Championship trophy has been presented.

Cancellation of Rounds Due to Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, all efforts will be made to complete all 54 holes of the Challenge. However, any round not completed by the end of the day on Monday, June 9 will be deemed cancelled, thus reducing the Challenge to the number of rounds completed.

Play-off

In the event of a tie for the overall Challenge, the players tied shall compete in a hole by hole play-off. The play-off holes shall be announced at the time of the play-off. The play-off shall begin immediately after the Committee has verified the results, and announced the play-off at the scoreboard. If the play-off is not able to be started or completed on Monday, June 9 it will begin at 7:30 on Tuesday, June 10

Withdrawals

A competitor who fails to notify Steve McMillen of his withdrawal before play begins or who fails to notify the Committee of his withdrawal during the event is subject to a disciplinary action by the TWC Committee. If you need to withdraw at any time after 5:00 p.m. on June 6, please call (913) 484-1844. This is the mobile phone of Steve McMillen. If you get the voice mail, please leave a detailed message.

Personal Appearance & Conduct

Proper professional golf attire is required; shorts, jeans, t-shirts, and tank tops are prohibited. Golf shirts must have a traditional or mock collar and be tucked in at all times. Milburn is a “Spike less facility.” Any act of unsportsmanlike conduct, including the use of obscene or abusive language, may be cause for disqualification.
